Common use
Aromasin is primarily used to treat breast cancer in postmenopausal women. It works by blocking the enzyme aromatase, which is responsible for producing estrogen. Lowering estrogen levels helps slow or stop the growth of certain types of breast tumors that require estrogen to grow.

Dosage and direction
The usual recommended dose is 25 mg once daily after a meal. It should be taken at the same time each day for best results. Follow your doctor’s prescription and do not change the dose without consulting your healthcare provider.

Precautions
Before taking Aromasin, inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, osteoporosis, or low bone mineral density. Use effective birth control if you are of childbearing potential, as the drug may cause harm to an unborn baby. Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience dizziness or fatigue.

Contraindications
Aromasin should not be used in premenopausal women, during pregnancy, or breastfeeding. It is also contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to exemestane or any of its components.

Possible side effect
Common side effects include hot flashes, headache, fatigue, nausea, increased sweating, and joint or muscle pain. Less common but serious effects may include bone loss, depression, or liver function changes. Contact your doctor if any severe or persistent symptoms occur.

Drug interaction
Aromasin may interact with estrogen-containing medications, hormone replacement therapy, and drugs that affect liver enzymes such as rifampicin, phenytoin, or carbamazepine. Inform your doctor of all medications and supplements you are taking to avoid potential interactions.

Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your regular schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose
In case of overdose, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms may include severe dizziness, vomiting, or loss of consciousness. There is no specific antidote; treatment is supportive and symptomatic.

Storage
Store at room temperature (15–30°C / 59–86°F), away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
